Teaching Tools

The ISM Geology Online Teaching Tools area contains information and resources to help classroom teachers present lessons on geosciences, archaeology, and technology.

The Teaching Tools area has five sections:

Lesson Plans—prepared lesson plans for use in your classroom, indexed by grade level, subject, and learning standards;

Field Trips—three field trips to geologically significant sites around Illinois, including lesson plan and itinerary;

Videoconference—available topics, scheduling, and technical requirements of video conferences with ISM staffl;

Background—brief pages that explain concepts underlying lessons or provide additional information;

Web Links—a collection of external Web sites where teachers can find information, data, or other resources.
